In 2024, with generous support from the Crankstart Foundation, Cornell launched Path2Papers (P2P), a new venture that helps DACA recipients pursue work visas and other pathways to legal permanent residency. Cornell clinical faculty guide law students in cutting-edge legal work to develop a model for supporting DACA-mented students. Working with experienced immigration attorneys, including a legal director based in California’s Bay Area, the Clinic is building an infrastructure of employment-based legal pathways for DACA recipients. The P2P Project operates within the Immigration Law & Advocacy Clinic and is a model for student engagement alongside expert practitioners with a particular jurisdictional and substantive focus. P2P provides free legal consultations to DACA workers and their employers and connects nonprofits, colleges and universities, and government agencies who sponsor DACA workers with pro bono legal representation.
